Title: Training Parents to Implement Applied Behavior Analysis Strategies
Description: Parent participation is typically a requirement of any ABA program with an emphasis on training parents to implement ABA strategies as seamlessly as possible. When parents are able to act as co-interventionists, they can increase the number of hours their child is receiving without additional costs to outside agencies. Additionally, parents who are trained in ABA strategies will be able to support their child throughout the child's life span. This course is meant to guide practitioners on how to effectively teach parents to use ABA strategies in the home across the domains of communication, adaptive skills, play skills, and behavior management. Discussion on data collection, analyzing data, and making data driven decisions will also be addressed. Insights on recent research on parents' involvement in ABA programs will be discussed and on how practitioners can best serve their clients.

Title: Implementing Behavior Intervention Plans in the Educational Setting
Description: Following a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) a function-based behavior intervention plan (BIP) should be developed. The behavior intervention plan is crucial for decreasing undesired behaviors and teaching more desirable replacement behaviors. For successful implementation, everyone working with the student should understand the interventions outlined in the BIP and be able to carry out the treatment plan consistently. This course will start with a brief review of the importance of function-based treatment design. The three components that make a complete BIP will be reviewed, and an overview will then be given of various behavioral procedures that may be included within a behavior intervention plan.
